The Foot Path

The only public entrance to the site was from the top, which would mean a long walk over the road for the learners. It was, therefore, decided to construct a footpath from below.

Mr Thuoang, who owned a site below the SSB site, agreed in August 2002, that we could have the right of way along the side of his plot. The path would be one and a half metre wide and fenced off with barbed wire.

Mr Leotlela, KPL Building and Maintenance, and his crew constructed the footpath: it consists of a cement walkway and a metal staircase over the rocks to reach the SSB site. It was completed in February 2003.

Preparing the site

A neighbour had deposited heaps of soil on the SSB site, when excavating the side of the mountain to build his own house. In April 2003 we employed again Mr Leotlela of KPL building to spread the soil over the site and use it also to make a driveway to the lower part of the site, where the rondavels and hall will be built in future.
